Someone slipped this poem through the door at 521, and it started something. We asked for more. Sonoma answered. “Space to Mistake” feels like a good place to start. We want Industry to be a place where you can try something, find someone to bounce an idea off, and see what happens. Somewhere with a little room to play. We can’t wait to see this space fill with art, good conversations, and all of you!
INTRODUCING INDUSTRY. At 521 Broadway, Sonoma. Industry is not a business category. It is a way of working: human hands, ideas, experience, and energy applied toward making something happen. Rooted in a building Brooke and Matt have long loved, Industry is being created around curiosity, craft, exchange, collaboration, and joy. A place where people can bring what they know, discover something new, and help shape what comes next. It is a love letter to Sonoma, built on a simple belief: nothing meaningful is made alone. The vision now has a name. The space and city process are still taking shape, and we will keep sharing the story as they do. INDUSTRY Where the Valley of the Moon comes to make things happen. 💌
Big night for 521. The vision has a green light. We’re delighted.
There’s something quietly healing about living with natural materials. At 521 Broadway, Brooke takes us inside the artistry of lime wash. Why its movement, depth, and imperfection can change not only how a space looks, but how it feels. For this building, the decision was never only about color. It was about choosing a finish that feels layered and alive, while allowing its history to remain visible. Thank you to everyone who stopped at the window, looked closely, and made a case for a favorite. This place has been taking shape through conversation. Stay tuned for more from behind the door.
The key to what comes next. You’ve shared your ideas, cast your votes and slipped poems under the door. Now it’s our turn to let you in on what has been taking shape. The vision at 521 Broadway has a name. We’ll share it this week.

The Fall Equinox is a small reminder to pause. As the light changes and the season turns, we are holding space for what has been, what is taking shape, and all that is still to come. There is something beautiful about a new season meeting an old building. We are grateful to be caring for both. More soon.
Brooke spotted these ladies out in the wild, studying the options and casting their votes. And this is exactly why we put the question on the window in the first place. We have opinions. You have opinions. 521 is taking shape somewhere in the middle
